The Business Problem:
Disconnected Planning and Siloed Teams
OPEXUS, a leader in government technology, had bold ambitions—but without a structured planning system, execution fell short.
Without a formal planning cadence, teams lacked alignment, making it difficult to turn strategy into action. Critical initiatives were spread across departments, but without a central system to track and coordinate efforts, progress was slow and fragmented. Cross-functional projects stalled due to communication gaps, resource misalignment, and a lack of shared accountability.
To grow at scale and drive operational excellence, OPEXUS needed a way to unite teams, increase visibility, and execute with precision.
How Rhythm Helped:
Disciplined Planning, Accountable Execution, and Cross-Functional Harmony
Rhythm provided OPEXUS with a planning framework to articulate its core strategy, set annual goals to support that strategy, and break those goals down into quarterly milestones. Their Executive Team gained a high level of visibility into cross-functional initiatives, using Rhythm to define in detail what success and failure looked like, manage Tasks, and assign goal ownership to specific team members.
OPEXUS’ Rhythm Success Manager, Allison, guided the team through one of their early Annual Planning sessions. “[Allison] kept us honest in terms of the number of initiatives we were taking on, how we were framing those initiatives, and also how we thought about cascading them across the organization,” shared Martha Mathers, Chief Revenue Officer.
Reviewing their priorities each week allowed them to identify blockers, reprioritize, and make crucial adjustments. They used these weekly meetings to bring together cross-functional stakeholders and ensure that resources were being allocated properly. “Those leaders know what they own and are accountable for, and they are coordinating together to progress the initiative forward,” said Martha.
As they strengthened their commitment to regular planning, organizational alignment, and weekly adjustments, the OPEXUS team dissolved their silos and accomplished major initiatives.
The Results:
