When Church Hill Classics partnered with Rhythm Systems, they faced significant challenges in executing their strategic plans. While they were familiar with setting annual goals and breaking them down into six-month increments, execution was inconsistent.
Without a clear system to track the progress of key initiatives, it was difficult to identify which goals were on track and which were at risk of falling behind. As a result, teams often found themselves scrambling toward the end of each quarter to push projects over the finish line.
Additionally, departments worked in silos, focused on their own projects with limited visibility into how their efforts contributed to the company’s long-term strategic goals. This disconnection made it harder to align the team around a unified purpose.
Rhythm coaches encouraged Church Hill to take a more holistic approach to planning. After establishing high-level company goals, they needed to cascade the plan downward. In this way, departments would be able to set goals that directly supported company initiatives, weaving the company together as an aligned, cohesive organization.
Rhythm also helped Church Hill break down their goals into even smaller, more digestible pieces. By setting quarter priorities and tasks (milestones and to-do list items), what needed to be done became more specific and achievable. Each week, the Church Hill team reviewed these shorter-term goals and tasks, statusing their projects on a forecast to communicate whether they were on track or encountering issues. This method allowed them to maintain a steady pace of execution and correct problems as early as possible.
Rhythm coaches guided Church Hill through the process of creating a more cohesive and holistic planning approach. By establishing high-level company goals and then cascading those goals down through the organization, departments could set specific goals that directly supported broader company initiatives. This new method ensured that every department’s efforts were aligned, transforming the company from a set of disconnected silos into a unified, high-performing team.
By focusing on quarterly priorities and specific tasks, employees gained a clearer understanding of what needed to be done and could track progress more effectively. Weekly reviews of short-term goals and project statuses allowed teams to identify any roadblocks early on and adjust course as needed.
